Finished Radiation :-)

The great news is that I finally finished my radiation yesterday!!!! :-) now I have a couple of weeks and then I get to start a new chemo regiment but the MD is expecting that I will have few side-effects from it. I hope that he is right (needless to say).

I will be on a chemo drip that I have to go into the office to get and then I'll be on an increased dose of the Temodar that I take at night. Overall I still feel ok, just really tired and I feel kind of useless since I cannot work right now and we have tons of bills pouring in from various doctors. But thanks to my sister and her efforts it is not as bad as it could be, thanks to everyone who has donated to us!!!! Have a great week,

Sandi

  2. You are of use to the people you are inspiring my dear! Great use. I'm new here (from your sisters blog) but I will keep you in my thoughts and hope the doctor was right about the side effects. Much love!

  4. Tears of joy for you!!! I marked the 20th on my calendar and thought of you all day....not that I don't anyway. I wear my Sandi's Fight For Life bracelet on one wrist and my Sister's bracelet from Sonya on the other. I think of you ALL the time. I wanted to send you something but had no idea what to send...do you like to read? Movies? I guess I'd like to feel as though I were doing something to add a little sunshine to your day.

Thank you for the update!! HUGS

  6. Beautiful precious Sandi, I know I'm probably supposed to make this a short message, but I just don't know how to do short! Since I came back to Christ in 1998, Mitzi and I have been prayer partners. We have come through much over the years, and I have always loved getting updates about you and your big sis. Many people here in Alabaster have been lifting you up since that first phone call. Paul Creed and his family have been praying for you very specifically and walking this same journey with you(family friend who also has glioblastoma). I wish I could make all this disappear. I know I can't begin to imagine all that you are facing right now, but I also know the truth that keeps me going. July 27, 10:25pm I opened my daughter's "His princess" devotional and this is the page it fell open on: I love you Sandi! Mia Psalms28:7
(pg43) "You never need to doubt if I am in the midst of your circumstances. No matter how hot the fire seems, the flames will not scorch you as long as I am present. Just as I was with shadrach, meshach, and abendnego, I am here now with you, ready to cool you off and keep you calm as we walk through this trial together. You may not see it now, but you will someday be like precious silver that has been refined by fire and purified in my presence. Remember, I did not put you in a fire to burn you out. Trust me with your troubled heart, and watch me do wonders for you in the midst..."

  7. Mia, thank you for such a sweet and thoughtful note. I have an MRI on Monday and then will get feed back from my docs on Friday. Admittedly, I have been a little nervous and upset about the upcoming MRI. But I also feel that God has been sending me little messages this week for me to have peace and trust Him. Unfortunately, what I know cognitively and what I feel do not always match up.

I hope that you are doing wonderful and thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers!

    Sandi
