the cost of drugs....

Thank God for health insurance!!!! My MD wants to treat this w/ a relatively new drug called Temodar, it's used to treat brain tumors and it seems to be reasonably well tolerated by most people. It cost us $35.00 for a 1 month supply and the form says our insurance saved us $6,359.00 on the prescription, wouldn't take long for me to be dead if we had to pay full-cost in order to be able to take this :-) http://www.temodar.com/temodar/treatment_instr.html

  1. Good Lord!!! Yes, thank HIM for your wonderful insurance. I have to be honest, seeing the $6,359 savings sort of made me chuckle. That's ridiculous!! :)

  3. Looks like it paid off for Chris to stay w/ that company for so long :-) at least we know that JJ's job is secure and therefore our insurance. We have not gotten the bill for the 1 night I spent in the ICU yet, I'm betting it was a $15K night at least so I could have a personal escort to the potty all night, that was pretty much all that good ole Mick did, other than monitor me and make sure I was doing ok.

  4. Well, making sure you were doing okay is worth it! Then we could sleep with less worry knowing you were in good hands when we couldn't be with you personally. Of course, our Heavenly Father is with you every moment too! As for the bear, I thought it was quite appropriate too!! : >)

  5. Sandi, I would seriously doubt it would be that much. I don't KNOW, but our bills from having Abby were no where close to that. Like, a small fraction of that. And Abby spent two nights in ICU and I think every specialist at Children sent us a bill if they passed her in the hall. Maybe it's different for different things though?
